Thank you for the comment. As for shell scripting and Linux in general, the best way to learn is to do. I would suggest you think of a project for yourself (one that you know will involve technologies you are unfamiliar with) and work through it. It won’t be easy or necessarily enjoyable, but once you work through it and end up with a functional end result, you’ll have learned a ton and you’ll be able to take pride in your work (and share it with others). Go sign up for a free account with Amazon EC2, start a few instances, and customize them. Alternatively you can use Vagrant and VirtualBox on your own workstation to start local VMs and use these as your lab.
